Transactions
Transactions are bank or imported cash movements Invunion stores for review and matching. They enter through an open banking connection or file import, keep direction and remaining amount, and can be unmatched, matched, ignored, or pending. You can import and export the list, and unresolved instruments fall back to the Default System payment method.

What you see in Transactions
A transaction is a cash movement in or out of your bank account. The Transactions section lists those lines for your tenant. Typical fields include:
- a transaction code;
- transaction date, and booking or value dates when available;
- amount, currency, and direction (
inorout); - flow type (for example payment, refund, fee, or transfer);
- description, remittance info, and structured reference when the bank supplies them;
- linked payment method and counterparty;
- allocated and remaining amounts after matching;
- status such as unmatched, matched, ignored, pending, or unconsidered;
- metadata: free-form key/value data for anything important that is not covered by a standard field.
For current reconciliation, incoming customer payments and outgoing customer refunds are the most important lines, because Invunion focuses on matching them to issued invoices and issued credit notes.
Default System
When a transaction cannot be linked to an existing payment method, Invunion falls back to the Default System payment method (SYS-PM-001).
That record belongs to the Default System counterparty (SYS-CPT-001). Keep both in place; they are part of the tenant bootstrap and should not be treated as normal catalogue data you delete or overwrite.
Created during bank sync
Bank transactions usually arrive through an open banking connection. After a connection is created, Invunion can request available history for up to the previous 90 days, then sync again for newer entries. Re-syncing the same provider records is designed not to create duplicates.
During sync or import, Invunion can also resolve or create related payment methods and counterparties from the identifiers on each line.
Import and export
From Transactions you can:
- Import transactions from a file to load cash movements without (or in addition to) a live bank connection.
- Export the current list of transactions (for example as CSV) for review, backup, or use in another tool.
- Add a transaction manually when you need a single line outside file import or bank sync.
Limits to keep in mind
- An active bank connection does not guarantee that every account has synchronized successfully. Check last-sync state and the Transactions list.
- The initial sync window is up to 90 days of available history, not unlimited archive.
- Disconnecting a bank connection stops future synchronization but retains transactions already imported.
- Supplier invoices and general outgoing expenses are outside the current reconciliation scope. Do not force an unsupported line onto an issued customer invoice just to clear an exception.
Next step
Continue with Issued invoices for the documents those payments should settle, or follow Resolve an unmatched transaction when a line has no suitable candidate.
